CABALLERO (Caesalpinia pulcherrinma)

A CABALLERO is small and smooth tree, about 1.5 to 5 m high. It is has spines along the branches. red and yellow, few flowed clustered are born on terminal portions.

Medicinal use:
• Fresh leaves are applied externally it relieves rheumatism; when heated and applied, remedycure for stomach pains.
• the decoration from the crushed seeds is used as an emetic and believed to be a cure for dysentery.
• The Roots are diuretic and useful in cases of stone formation in bladder.
• The juice of the stem and roasted fruit are used for eye diseases.
• The powdered leaves are given as uterine tonic to women immediately after giving birth.
